8 × 12 or 12 × 16? Choose your sign size
Measure the actual wall space before choosing a size. Landscape dimensions are shown width first; portrait dimensions are shown height last.
Two sizes, four layouts
Small landscape is nominally 12 × 8 inches and small portrait is 8 × 12 inches, approximately 30 × 20 cm or 20 × 30 cm. Large landscape is 16 × 12 inches and large portrait is 12 × 16 inches, approximately 40 × 30 cm or 30 × 40 cm. Supplier dimensions are nominal and may vary by 1–2 cm.
The shape changes too
The small format is approximately 3:2; the large format is 4:3. AI redistributes the design for the selected canvas rather than stretching the lettering. All-size availability is shown in the studio; a size without an active, priced product cannot be ordered.
Make a paper outline
Tape a paper rectangle of the stated dimensions where the sign will hang. Look from the doorway and from the seat where it will be read. Thumbnail cards are normalized for browsing and are not a physical scale comparison.
