How to Make a Custom Bootleg Hoodie From Photos

Build your own original photo merch with a strong portrait, deliberate collage and clear type—not a copy of a band's artwork.

By the LumaKeeps team

Start with a recognizable main photograph

Choose a sharp, well-lit portrait with the whole face or pet head visible. A dominant close-up gives the graphic a focal point; distant group photos and screenshots usually make weaker print sources.

Photo panels are not extra identities

Some collages repeat the same subject in different panels. A one-person design still needs only that person's identity; a two-person or two-pet design needs a distinct reference for each. Tell the studio which photo belongs to whom.

Choose original merch, not a copied tour poster

Our compositions use original lettering and graphic arrangements. Do not upload protected logos, a celebrity's likeness without permission, licensed characters or a real band's artwork and assume personalization makes it yours.

Check it on a hoodie, not just on a white screen

Review the graphic against your selected garment color. Check the face, contrast, edges and placement above the front pocket. The final editor—not the lifestyle image—controls the submitted print layout.

Finish names and dates as editable text

After generating the portrait, add your own name, short phrase or year in the product editor. Keep it large enough to read and check every character before reviewing both print panels.

Your photos. Your people.

Not just another hoodie.
